One of the original supermodels of the 1990s, Claudia Schiffer is one of the biggest, most successful names in fashion and beauty. She has appeared on more than 1000 magazine covers – a world record – and fronted a huge number of global, multi-million dollar campaigns. An intriguing public speaker, Schiffer uses her vast experience as a model and entrepreneur to discuss personal anecdotes, her career within the fashion world and issues in corporate responsibility.

Born in Rheinberg, Germany in 1970, Claudia Schiffer was discovered at a Hamburg disco at just 17. A notoriously shy girl, the scout convinced her to travel to Paris to give modelling a try and she soon shot to fame, becoming one of the most successful models of our time.

In the early 1990s, she starred in the highly publicised Guess? Jeans campaigns. Following this success, she was chosen by Chanel’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, to become the face, and muse, of the brand, quickly becoming one of the most recognised and successful models throughout the world.

During her career, Claudia Schiffer has been photographed by some of the world’s leading photographers and graced the covers of more than 1000 magazines, including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Cosmopolitan and Time. Schiffer has appeared on the catwalk and fronted campaigns for numerous high-profile fashion houses – such as Versace, Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel and Valentino. She has also been the face for high street retailers, such as Mango and Accessorize, and featured in commercials for Pepsi, Fanta, L’Oréal and Dom Pérignon.

Aside from her career as a supermodel, Claudia Schiffer is an astute businesswoman and is the creative director of her own fashion label, Claudia Schiffer Cashmere. Launched during Paris Fashion Week in 2011, the brand has enjoyed tremendous success and is sold in department stores and high-end boutiques across the globe.

She has also undertaken work for numerous charities and causes. She is a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, was a spokesman for Make Poverty History and appeared as a presenter at both the Berlin and Edinburgh Live 8 concerts in 2005.

Claudia Schiffer married film producer Matthew Vaughn in a fairytale ceremony in a Suffolk village church on 25 May 2002. They have three children: Caspar was born on January 31, 2003, their second child, daughter Clementine, was born on November 11, 2004 and the third child, daughter Cosima Violet, was born on May 14, 2010.
