Claudia Schiffer turns 42

¡¡ Happy Birthday Claudia !!

Personal Quote

"I know one day I'll be considered too old. I think 40-year-old women actually look more healthy and fit than some girls in their 20s. I've met women who have way better bodies in their 40s because they've been working on them for all these years."

LOUIS VUITTON THE ART OF PACKING - PEGASE BAG

  PEGASE BAG TRIP
A JOURNEY LIKE CLOCKWORK. MECHANICAL,
SIGNED, FREEWHEELING. THE PEGASE, LIKE A ROLLING
LOUIS VUITTON.

Fly light from a business lunch to a business meeting. Take a taxi, belongings at the side. Check the tickets in one gesture. Go straight to boarding.
Cross the airport without a sound, one hand on the cane handle, the other on the smartphone. Unpack the clothes in a “zip” in the bedroom: first the suit in its removable cover; then the V-neck cashmere jumper; and then the shirts, collars to fold down…
In and out
The Pegase takes off; rolls; stands back (the telescopic handle obliges); is carried by the sides; displays its Monogram canvas and transports, of course. What? For example: 1 jacket, 1 suit, 1 pair of jeans, 1 jumper, 1 shirt, 1 polo shirt, 2 t-shirts, underwear, socks, 1 pair of gloves, 2 pairs of shoes, 1 belt, ties and their case, 1 Louis Vuitton City Guide European Cities 2012 boxed set, 1 toilet bag and some accessories (shoe care kit, watch, bow ties, diary, iPad case, etc). To be tidied with art…

INSTRUCTIONS
n°1
Arrange the shoes at the bottom andthe top of the Pegase, separating the pair, with light shoetrees inserted and protective covers put on.
n°2
Place between them the Louis Vuitton City Guide boxed set, the toilet bag, the shoe care kit and the belt rolled up on itself.
n°3
Fill in the spaces left empty with underwear, socks and gloves.
n°4
On the wheels side, stack the shirts and polo shirt top to toe and intertwined, collars raised, with alternate buttons done up.
n°5
Higher up, arrange the t-shirts and jumper rolled up on themselves as well as the ties in their case.
n°6
Insert the accessories (watch, bow ties, etc).
n°7
Cover with the jeans, then the jacket folded in the usual way: in two across the height with the collar visible and the sleeves folded in the back.
n°8
Place the complete suit in its cover. Fold it in three over itself and attach it to the flap of the Pegase. Close the suitcase.
n°9
Slip the diary and iPad case into the patch zipped pocket on the front. Check the taxi reservation number and confirm your departure will be on time.
BONUS
Protective covers, to slide along the side handle which guarantee the Pegase and its contents will remain intact.

INSTRUCTIONS
SHIRTS
1. Raise the collar of the shirt to protect it.
2. Do up every other button.
3. Fold it the usual way: in two, across the height with the collar visible and the sleeves folded in the back.
4. Stack two shirts, top to toe, to avoid creases.
SUIT IN A COVER
1. Lay the trousers down flat, legs folded in the usual way.
2. Place the outside trouser leg in the coat hanger. Fold it in two around the crotch.
3. Place the inside leg in the same coat hanger, and fold it identically, towards the waist of the trousers.
4. Hang the jacket on the coat hanger.
5. Place the complete suit in its cover.

LOUIS VUITTON THE ART OF PACKING - KEEPALL BAG

  KEEPALL BAG TRIP
SINCE 1930 AND THE VERY FIRST VERSION IN BROWN COTTON CANVAS… KEEPALL TIME.

"Keeps all". By nature.
Here, the Keepall unfolds and "zip" fills up; there, "zip" it opens, empties and folds up.
Between the two, an outwards journey in a flash for a trip, planned or not, alone or for two.
Whatever, soft, light, elegant, with a large volume, this classic goes everywhere, even in the overhead compartment!
"Keeps all". By excellence. Monogram canvas, natural cowhide, yellow linen thread, golden brass... Welcome aboard Air Louis Vuitton!
"Keeps all". Beyond fashions.

IN AND OUT
The Keepall? One Monogram canvas, two handles, carry-on size. Practical elegance. Easy to pick up, zip up, unzip, squeeze in. And to fill? 1 pair of jeans, 1 dress, 2 light jumpers, 1 cardigan, underwear, socks, 2 pairs of trainers, 2 pairs of shoes, 2 belts, 1 toilet bag, 1 cosmetics bag, 1 jewellery bag, 1 three watch case? Easy, on condition you follow the instructions…

INSTRUCTIONS
n°1
Cover the bottom of the Keepall with the jeans, folded in two or three, depending on the size of the bag.
n°2
On top of it, at each end, place on pair of trainers, tip to toe, and shoes, separating the pairs, with light shoetrees inserted or stuffed with silk paper and protective covers on.
n°3
Place the toilet bag, cosmetics bag, jewellery bag, and three watch case between them.
n°4
Fill the spaces left empty with underwear, socks and belts rolled up on themselves.
n°5
Cover with the jumpers, cardigan and dress rolled up on themselves.
n°6
Close the Keepall with a "zip" and leave!
BONUS
When shopping, the Keepall is a must. Carried in another bag on the way there and held in the hand on the way back. To do this, unzip it a little to flatten it better. Turn it over and bring in the tops of the sides towards the inside. Fold once again, still towards the centre of the back of the bag. Turn it over, handles upwards, and stow it in a bigger bag.

INSTRUCTIONS
JEANS
1. Lay the jeans down flat with legs open, stitching facing outwards, pockets flat on the back.
2. Bring in the legs one on top of the other.
3. Fold the jeans lengthways in two or three, so it takes up as much as possible of the bottom of the Keepall.
THIN JUMPER
1. Lay the jumper down flat, collar on top. Fold the sleeves in.
2. Roll it over on itself, from the collar to the bottom.
3. Roll it over on itself again from left to right as needed.

LOUIS VUITTON THE ART OF PACKING - ALZER BAG

  ALZER BAG TRIP
CHAMPAGNE LIFESTYLE. RESERVED. DO NOT TOUCH.
TO PROTECT IT : THE ALZER.

A certain allure, a most certainly fine wardrobe, staff wearing white gloves, and so on. Excellence everywhere.
Here, in Paris; there, in Venice, in Monaco, in New York. And even inbetween.
The journeys… Destinations chosen, open tickets in hand, 1st class of course and the luggage which follows.
Monogram canvas, brass pieces, poplar and Okoumé frame. Sturdiness adds to its elegance and tradition.
Louis Vuitton has its suitcase; high society cannot go without it.

IN AND OUT
The Alzer is a great chest. Reinforced locks, storage box and restraint straps. Most certainly for beautiful clothing… 1 raincoat, 1 dress, 1 skirt, 1 pair of trousers, 1 cardigan, 2 blouses, 1 shawl, underwear, stockings, socks, 1 pair of high-heeled shoes, 1 pair of flat shoes, 1 belt, 1 toilet bag, 1 cosmetics bag, 1 jewellery box, 1 bracelet case: Madam is going to enjoy herself, if her belongings are all tidied beforehand…

INSTRUCTIONS
N°1
Place the separate compartment to one side and unstrap the Alzer.
N°2
In the bottom of the suitcase, opposite the handle, place the heaviest objects: toilet bag, jewellery box, bracelet case, cosmetics bag, etc.
N°3
Insert the shoes, stuffed with silk paper, pairs separated, with covers on. Fill in the spaces left empty with underwear, stockings, socks and the belt rolled up on itself.
N°4
Cover with the raincoat, open, with collar raised. Inside, place the trousers folded flat with the waist and legs protruding.
On top, stack the blouses top to toe and intertwined, collars raised, with alternate buttons done up. Fold down the waist and legs of the pants, then the sides and sleeves of the raincoat. Pull the straps over.
In this way the most delicate items are protected.
n°5
Put back the separate compartment and unstrap it.
n°6
Lay the dress down flat, leaving the top in the compartment and the bottom overhanging.
Fold the skirt in two across the width and place on top of the dress. Fold in the bottom of the dress against it.
n°7
Fill the spaces left empty with the cardigan rolled up on itself and the remaining accessories.
n°8
Cover the top with the shawl, so as to be able to access it quickly, and strap.
n°9
Close the Alzer and reassure Madam: her luggage is ready.
BONUS
To avoid surprise unpacking, open the Alzer in two stages: first the central lock, then the locks on the side.

INSTRUCTIONS
DRESS
1. Lay the dress down flat with the top in the suitcase and the bottom out of it.
2. Place for example a jacket on top, open, with collar raised. Fold in the sides then fold over the sleeves.
3. Fold in the bottom of the dress against the jacket.
BLOUSE
1. Raise the collar of the blouse in order to protect it.
2. Do up every other button.
3. Fold it the usual way: in two, across the height with the collar visible and the sleeves folded in the back.

HBO docs About Face - Supermodels Then And Now

An official selection of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, ABOUT FACE: SUPERMODELS THEN AND NOW was filmed by Greenfield-Sanders in his trademark intimate portrait style, and features interviews with some of the most celebrated visages of the 20th century. Through conversations with supermodels, including Carol Alt, Marisa Berenson, Karen Bjornson, Christie Brinkley, Pat Cleveland, Carmen Dell'Orefice, Jerry Hall, Bethann Hardison, Beverly Johnson, China Machado, Paulina Porizkova, Isabella Rossellini, Lisa Taylor and Cheryl Tiegs, the documentary reveals the roles they played in defining - and redefining - beauty over time.

Some of the women recall how modeling was once considered improper, and certainly not a viable career. Bethann Hardison quips that her mother suspected she was a prostitute until she saw her in a TV commercial. "Nowadays, everybody wants their child to model," she says, adding, "Back in the day, nobody wanted anybody to be a model!" China Machado says she was paid $100 a month when she started modeling in the early 1950s, observing, "I was the highest-paid model in Europe."

Others recall life in the ‘70s and ‘80s, including wild parties with the likes of Andy Warhol and Salvador Dali, when some models compensated for shyness and insecurity with cocaine. After drugs entered the scene, models assumed a harsher look and in some cases bore visible track marks on their arms. The party slowed down with the arrival of AIDS, which affected many in the fashion industry.

ABOUT FACE also features appearances by Kim Alexis, Nancy Donahue, Esmé, Eileen Ford, Dayle Haddon, Christy Turlington Burns and Calvin Klein.

Timothy Greenfield-Sanders is a filmmaker and photographer
